You never know what can happen in the salon, ‘chemically’. Hair is not made of steel. All hairdresser’s know what a chemical haircut is, and that is something we want to avoid at all costs. But hey, shit happens, it’s not intentional, that’s for sure but, chemically damaging hair happens.
I hate to even say this but, it’s not common practice for hairdressers to make their color clients fill out a Release Statement. Why is that? Damn right you always remember after a chemical issue arises, right?
So why is it that we don’t have chemical clients sign a Release Statement? Don’t want to offend them? Forgetting to? Or have the attitude, you can fix it.
Hair is an important part of someone’s well being. You never know how a client is going to react if something unexpected happens to their hair. Even your best client can turn on you like a dime.
Do yourself a favor, have your chemical clients sign a Release Statement. A Release Statement is used when a hairdresser performs the service of hair coloring or any other chemical service. The statement releases the hairdresser from all responsibility for accidental, or damages, incurred by the hairdresser.
Below you will find an example of a Release form
