Spring and Flying Insects

With everything blooming and buzzing right now, I am reminded of how much I hate flying insects. When I was a kid, I’d I would scream bloody murder, and run for dare life if I saw a bug that was known as the sewing needle.

Now, as an adult, I know the sewing needle is a dragonfly. And I’d like to think, when I see one, rather than being terrified by the thing, I’d like to think of what the dragonfly symbolizes, instead.

The dragonfly, which has been around 300 million years, symbolizes our ability to overcome times of hardship. And to remember our inner strength, our courage, and our inner peace.
