Doing Hair on the Deceased

Many businesses put stickers on their windows or doors telling the public of organizations that they support or belong to.

I think most people, including hairdressers, aren’t familiar with the title, Desairologist, or know the meaning of putting a rose sticker in a Hair Salon’s window or on their door.

Desairology is a branch of cosmetology. A Desairologist services funeral homes; doing hair on the dead. It’s a title I don’t hear anymore but, it is a title and a profession.

The rose sticker, put on a window or door of a hair salon means someone at the salon is a Desairologist.

I learned of this rose sticker in the early 80’s after my first rodeo at a funeral home. (one of the inspirations of my book!)

Speaking of, HAVE you read my ebook, Towel Dry and a Good Cry?

It’s about two Italian bff’s doing hair in the 80’s and the lives they touch through their clients. Guaranteed to make you laugh your ass off and shed a little tear.
